The Dark
I do not dare go in the dark
For that is where the monsters hide
They'll grab you up & stop your heart
Leave an empty socket gaping wide
I dare not go near the dark
For this is where He resides
He'll catch you up & steal your soul
In the shadows where He hides
I once strayed into the dark
He bound my wrists & bound my feet
Body heavy, suffocating, under
The weight & from His heat
His hands they scorched upon my flesh
Outside myself, outside the whole
He left me, then, damaged goods
Broken & without a soul
This is why I fear the dark
Have cold-sweats through the night
People laugh, don't understand
Someday I hope they'll see
